  • At Psych First Behavioral Health in Des Plaines, Illinois, we provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for individuals ages 13 and older. Our services include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, therapy coordination, and personalized treatment for anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma, and mood disorders. We serve patients both in-person and via telepsychiatry across Illinois.

  • We know that timely access to a psychiatrist in Illinois is essential. In most cases, we can schedule new patient psychiatric evaluations within 1–2 days and follow-up appointments within days, whether you choose in-person or telepsychiatry.

  • Yes. Our Illinois telepsychiatry services allow you to receive high-quality mental health care from the comfort of your home. All virtual sessions are secure, HIPAA-compliant, and conducted by experienced psychiatric professionals. We also offer in-person care for those who prefer office visits.

  • Yes. Adult patients are welcome to bring a support person (such as a family member or friend) to their appointment if they find it helpful. For privacy and confidentiality, written consent will be required before discussing any personal health information in their presence.

  • Late cancellations (less than 24 business hours’ notice) and missed appointments (no-shows) will be subject to a $25 fee. This fee is not covered by insurance and must be paid before scheduling future appointments. Repeated missed appointments may result in discontinuation of services.

  • We do not accept insurance at this time. However, we are happy to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network mental health benefits.
    We are in the process of credentialing with insurance panels and plan to accept insurance in the near future.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected cost of services. This estimate will be provided upon request or at least 3 business days in advance of your scheduled appointment if you are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance.

  • Forms will be filled out only for established patients.
    Forms that may be provided, at the clinician's discretion, could be accommodation, ESA letters, etc
    We do not offer long term disability certification.
    Short-term disability may be considered for established patients who are in a psychiatric day program that requires time off work. This will be at the clinician's discretion.
